Even though they were post-merge, the castaways were again separated into two separate teams during this episode. One person from each group would be able to win immunity, and each group went to a separate Tribal Council to vote somebody out. At the immunity/reward challenge, the players have to complete various different obstacles, collect puzzle pieces and then solve a word puzzle. Karla’s advantage allows her to collect less puzzle pieces, placing a third of them at the finish platform already. In the end, though, it’s Owen who solves the puzzle fastest and wins immunity. In addition to being safe at tribal, Owen also gets a protein packed meal for his reward to help him carry through the final days, and he chooses Cassidy to enjoy it with him.
20 all-new castaways arrive on Survivor this season split between two tribes. This week saw the Survivor 43castaways celebrating a week on the island. Others looked back on the relationships they made and adjusted. And for some, it came down to casting someone out of the family that had grown in their tribe's camp in just a week's time. Week 3 had the castaways reflecting on a week of time on the island.
A scramble for an advantage slimmed down the pool of vulnerable castaways. And one castaway feeling the heat took a big swing out in the open at Tribal Council. The season started off with the castaways split into two tribes, Lairo and Vokai.
Like the last two seasons,Jeff Probst reads the votes on the spot.James Jones votes for Cassidy and Karla votes for Gabler, while the rest of the votes are hidden. The rest of the votes all go to Gabler, who wins season 43. The endgame is fastly approaching on Survivor 43, and the castaways are realizing that.
Cody was able to find the "Choose Your Champion" advantage, which give him the opportunity to put in a wager of who would win the next Immunity Challenge. He picked Owen, who was declared the victor alongside Karla when, for the first time, the players outlasted the challenge. Back at camp, Ronnie and his alliance planned to vote out Elaine for being too likeable.
The next day, the final four compete in their final immunity challenge. They have to use a long fork to navigate bowls through a difficult maze and stack them on top of another. Cassidy wins, making it her third individual immunity win. It didn't take long for the game to kick into gear on Survivor 43. With everyone on small tribes, duos and trios began to solidify.
While both tribes seemed solid at the start, Lairo lost the first challenge in a blowout, sending Elizabeth to the Island of the Idols to learn from Boston Rob and Sandra. Elizabeth's closest allies had just been voted out, so when the castaways were presented with a "eat or compete" immunity challenge, the Olympic swimmer decided to participate. As Justine herself outlined at Tribal Council, the Vesi tribe had settled into three pairs in its first few days. Justine believed she had her closest ally Noelle, as well as the middle pair in Dwight and Jesse, to get rid of weak link Nneka. But Jesse was looking to get rid of Justine, fearing she was already a threat for his game.

Cassidy is gunning for Karla, who’s her former ally, and Owen seems to be on board by the time the meal is done. Back at camp, Karla tells Jesse that she wants to vote for Cassidy, but really, she wants to target Jesse, not realizing that he still has an idol. She pitches the Jesse vote to Owen, Cassidy and Gabler.
